NOTICE OF CANCELLATION
To protect our members from contracting the COVID-19 virus, most EYPC activities are cancelled until further notice. As the Toronto and Ontario governments start lifting restrictions and allowing certain group activities, our club may follow suit. The Management Committee (Click the "Contact" menu item below) can provide guidance to group convenors on whether to restart an in-person group activity and help with communication protocols. In a pandemic we do not want to take any unnecessary risk and are now requiring all of our members who wish to participate in any upcoming in-person activities and meetings to sign a waiver. Click HERE for a copy of it.
We are sad to say that members who do not sign the waiver will not be permitted to participate in any club-related in-person activities/meetings/events until the pandemic is over.
Welcome to the East York Probus Club. Our club officially began in November 2017 and we are currently capped at 250 members, as well as a waiting list.

The Merry Widow
Ten very gallant members and guests from our Club headed up to Richmond Hill on Friday night, February 28, in the worst snowstorm we have seen for a while. Luckily we had arranged to meet at 6:30 pm for the 7:30 pm show of The Merry Widow by Franz Lehar, so we were all there on time.
Tom Stephens (who has a good friend that was a tenor in the chorus) had secured a 20% discount on our block of tickets and arranged a pre-show tour with Joan Sax, Co-Founder of Opera York. Joan was a most gracious host and took us on a tour of the Jack Diamond designed theatre as well as the back stage area, the orchestra pit and the actual stage itself. We were warmly greeted by many of the cast as they were getting ready to start the show, as well as the Conductor who told us his mother was to be in the audience and would be embarrassed by the spotlight shining on the back of his bald head!
The show was really enjoyed by all. Wonderful orchestra and signing throughout. Jay Burford commented "the addition of the tour really helped to make the evening special".
