East York Probus COVID-19 Mitigation Policy

Preamble: East York Probus Club will follow all current Ontario government and City of Toronto COVID-19 protocols but is allowed to apply additional measures previously adopted by the government in an effort to safeguard the health of our members. When attending Probus activities, all members must abide by the rules set forth below.

Vaccine Status: Although members will not be asked to show proof of vaccination at an in-person activity, event or general meeting, it is the policy of East York Probus that only vaccinated members can register and attend. By registering, members are confirming that they are in compliance with this policy.

Masking: The decision to wear a mask in closed groups that meet in private homes and meeting rooms will be determined by a majority of the members of that group. If the facility/venue where a meeting or event takes place requires that masks must be worn, then the group must follow the rules as stated by that venue. Members are free to wear a mask to any venue at any time.

Waiver Form: In order to participate in an in-person EYPC event, all members must have submitted a signed waiver form. See the home page of the website for details on how to do this.

Illness: Each member must take personal responsibility for assessing the risk associated with attending any activity or event before they sign up. Members should always stay home if they are sick or experiencing symptoms.

In-Person vs Zoom Meetings: Activities/ groups may be in person or on Zoom. We maintain a Zoom license for a maximum of 100 participants.

This policy will remain in effect for the foreseeable future. The Management Committee will regularly review the content to ensure it best serves the members.

This policy was revised by the Management Committee on May 13, 2024.
